So who is this marketing guy who specializes in working with loan officers?

I've spent my entire career teaching my fellow peers, sales professionals, persuasive communication skills and marketing knowledge to become more successful.

Since 1999, I've been specifically working with dozens of mortgage companies and hundreds of loan officers to help them attract more clients by improving their marketing plans to beat their competitors and win more agent referred business.

It hasn't always been easy though. I found that many loan officers, initially like myself, don't understand marketing. In fact, I had a belief for the longest time that brochures were a complete waste of money. My attitude was that I was a live, walking & talking brochure. Boy, was I wrong!

My biggest frustration came from too many years of cold calling on prospects. Actually you get pretty good at it when you've done it as much as I did. But you know what, it's a very difficult and poor way to try and grow a business.

I finally realized that I was confusing tenacity and stubbornness. My mulish behavior was unyielding, determined to breakthrough any barrier. Well, if you hit your head often enough against a brick wall, it'll eventually hurt. And that's when it became a matter of doing it smarter.

See, in my hurriedness to become successful, I ignored telltale signs that would make my business more successful and selling a cinch. Most of my time was spent chasing people who didn't want to do business with me. Not because they didn't like me, but because they didn't know me. I was a total stranger to them.

That's when I went to work on the marketing puzzle. And with a thirst for knowledge and a sponge-like mind, first I learned how to market my services, than I learned how to magnetize my marketing.

Let me be the first to say, it's a whole lot more fun to attract relationships with people who care as much about your business as they do their own. It's assuring to work with clients who have high integrity and do what they say. And the greatest reward I've experienced thus far, that it's much easier to sell when there's a long line of prospects at your door wanting your expertise.

If I can learn to how to magnetize my marketing to attract more clients with less hassle, than so can you. Let's not forget that neither of us are in the field of brain surgery. Although my mother would have liked that!
